Temple Grandin, the award winning bio made-for-TV film is something that I have wanted to write about for some time. I love this film. HBO did such a wonderful job with this film that it is a shame it was not released theatrically so that Claire Danes and other members of the talented cast and crew could be considered for Oscars. Temple Grandin is that good.
Staring Claire Daines, Julia Ormond, Catherine O’Hara and David Strathairn, Temple Grandin tells the story of a young woman’s perseverance and determination to overcome all obstacles including her challenges with Autism in at time when there was practically no understanding or awareness in both the community or in the profession spheres. The story chronicles her diagnosis at the age of 4, her early development and the work that her mother did with her (very inspiring considering she had no early intervention options), her sometimes turbulent school & college years and her later inspiring post-graduate work with animals. It is a beautiful and inspiring film about an amazing woman.
