When doing some recently research online I was reading about a LIVE Chat that had just happened about bringing together leaders in technology and Autism Specialists to facilitate and accelerate technology-based ideas to help give those with autism a voice. I was totally blown away by the people that they had involved and the passion to use today’s technology, parents and specialists in the field and technology leaders to make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people with Autism.
In preparation for the App Hackathon (starting in about 30 days), Hacking Autism has assembled an impressive advisory board of leading autism specialists and recruited an eager army of volunteer software programmers. The goal is to develop innovative, touch-enabled applications for the autism community and make this software available for free on HackingAutism.org.
However, this program needs the support and ideas of the Autism Community. Have an idea for a touch-enabled application? Please, share your ideas. And choose your favorites. You’ll help our advisory board bring to life the most impactful applications. This is your chance to voice your thoughts and opinions on what type of computer applications could make a difference to you and your child. Don’t think about how it could be done .. leave that to the software developers. Use your unique talent … the knowledge you have of your child … and let them know what will make a difference. This is such a great opportunity. Let’s all take it with both hands and make the most of it.
