Today I was reading on the Autism Awareness website about the release and premiere the film ‘What are you doing?’ … and of course I just had to share.
“What are you doing?” is a short film, created by Autism Awareness, which aims to teach school aged children about acceptance and understanding of their peers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Written by Michael Whelan author of ‘Another Country’ (a excellent book .. hmm should do a post) and narrated by television Tom Gleisner, best known for his work on the Panel, Thank God You’re Here and D-Generation (ok I might be showing my age but it was great). The film includes interviews with the brothers, sisters, cousins and friends of children on the spectrum. ‘What are you doing?’ sends the message that children with autism should be accepted, supported and encouraged by their peers to be a part of their community.
I can’t wait to see it … and guess what you can see the film and help raise money for Autism Awarenes … Perfect. Autism Awareness is running a fundraising film screening on Thursday 28 July in Sydney to premiere the documentary. For full event details and to purchase tickets please click here.
Otherwise .. “What are you doing?” will be distributed to 10,000 schools across Australia later this year … and let’s just hope that maybe it might even go further.
Don’t forget to visit the official film website www.whatareyoudoingfilm.com to see a preview of the film!

Hi there Broni,
I am going to see this movie on Thursday night so hope we can say hello in person there. I’m going to make a huge effort to get there a bit early if humanly possible, and will definitely hang about afterwards. See you then!
Hope to see you there 🙂
