I was reading this morning a travel article about solo travel and saw the name and was intrigued and amused. Is this a cruel joke or a panacea for pain? I am not sure.
There must be a market for this kind of thing. You don’t have to look too hard to find places selling it and articles written about the number of sales it has made. Outside of cruel gifts is there a places for the Boyfriend Body Pillow? Well maybe … Could this pillow provide give sleeping single girls the experience of no-strings-attached spooning or provide some solace and a good nights sleep to some lonely women.
However I could not help from noticing that as part of the marketing spiel that it was advertised as a perfect gift. Yes … the perfect gift for all the frenemies out there that really want to bring someone down. Seriously what could be a better present for someone during a dry spell or recently broken up or divorced than to receive a Boyfriend Body Pillow. Nothing says that your prospects of getting a ‘real’ boyfriend (however long or fleeting) are non-existent like a Boyfriend Pillow. Maybe I just don’t have the right sense of humor … but to give this as a gift, in at least most cases, could be very cruel.
