Today Health Minister Nicola Roxon today announced a new batch of 13 drugs would receive $200 million worth of subsidies under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) from September. Among those being subsidized were Erbitux, a treatment for late stage bowel cancer, Gilenya, an oral medication for MS sufferers, and Duodart, a prostate drug.
Here is what I can find so far on the drugs …
In the last 2 months, Nicola Roxon has approved additional funding for more than $320 million worth of new drugs on the PBS. I wonder how much additional funding has been invested in therapy or supports for disabled people that don’t require doctors, drugs and hospitals … I bet it is $0
